The Holmenkoll Relay Race is the world's largest relay and Norway's largest sports event, known for bringing together a large number of participants and teams. The event consists of 15 stages and has had up to 75,000 participants, with a record 5,000 registered teams. This makes it a significant event in Norwegian sport, where both exercisers and elite athletes participate.
The elite classes attract some of the country's best runners, and it is broadcast directly from these classes, giving viewers the opportunity to follow the top sport. Stage records have also been set by athletes, which contributes to the competitive nature and excitement surrounding the event. The Holmenkoll relay has a focus on inspiring exercisers by showcasing the achievements of elite runners, while at the same time collaborating with charities to support good causes. The next event is planned for 9 May 2026.
