Modus - Center for medieval music is an organization that functions as a resource center for medieval music. The aim of the center is to promote knowledge and interest in historical forms of music, with a particular focus on Gregorian chant. Through various activities, Modus offers training and commissioned works, which gives both artists and those interested in music opportunities to immerse themselves in this musical tradition.
In addition to training, Modus organizes concerts and festivals that spotlight the rich cultural heritage of medieval music. The organization also emphasizes dissemination through lectures, which provide insight into the music's history and context. For those who want to learn more about Oslo's history, Modus offers a podcast about St. Hallvard's Cathedral, which links music and local history together. The center thus functions as a meeting place for artists, researchers and anyone with an interest in medieval music.
