Norske Kunsthåndverkere is an organization that works to strengthen the work of artisans in Norway. The organization's aim is to make contemporary material-based art visible and to promote professional policies that support the arts and crafts field. Through various initiatives and events, such as exhibition openings with a focus on contemporary art, they contribute to raising the profile of artisans and their work.
In addition to organizing anniversaries, such as NK50 with professional deepening and celebration, Norske Kunsthåndverkere offers scholarship and support schemes for both professional artists and students. They also have an artist register that collects information about artisans, which can be useful for both artists and the public. The organization documents historical aspects of handicrafts, including previous Annual Exhibitions, and has an innovative approach to textiles in artistic works.
