The Steiner Barnehageforbundet is an organization that focuses on Steiner pedagogy, a pedagogical direction that emphasizes care, play and rhythms in children's everyday life. The nurseries affiliated to the association prioritize participation and cultural dissemination, and have a strong ecological perspective that links the children to nature. This includes activities such as playing in nature and tending to the garden, which promotes an understanding of the environment.
In addition to the educational content, the nurseries offer daily meals made from scratch, and use natural materials in both toys and decor. Friendship and good role models in the adult role are also central elements in Steiner pedagogy, which aims to promote sensory care and the development of the child. The organization attaches great importance to having committed and skilled employees, and Steiner pedagogy is internationally recognized for its approach to child development.
