Frivillighet Norge functions as an interest policy cooperation forum for the voluntary sector in Norway. The organization has over 370 member organisations, which together represent more than 50,000 local teams. This broad network makes Frivillighet Norge a central actor in the work to promote voluntary involvement and cooperation between different organisations.
The organization uses a consensus-based approach, where all volunteers stand together behind their political issues. Volunteering Norway also maps support schemes and offers tools and guides to both voluntary organizations and public actors. In addition, they focus on diversity as an important factor in strengthening the community within volunteering. The volunteering barometer 2025 indicates an increased commitment among volunteers, which can be linked to international unrest and societal challenges.
