Klassisk is a nationwide interest organization that focuses on concert organisers, festivals and ensembles within the classical music genre. The organization works to promote live classical music throughout Norway, and aims to support musicians who challenge established frameworks. The violinist Sara Övinge is one of the well-known performers who represent this curious approach to classical music.
Klassisk arranges showcases for classical performers and acts as a cultural meeting place for both local, national and international artists. Stormen Konserthus in Bodø, with its modern architecture and excellent acoustics, is an example of a place where the organization contributes to varied program offerings in music, theater and performing arts. Through its work Klassisk contributes to strengthening the classical music environment in Norway.
