Norske Lakseelver is a non-governmental organization that works for the conservation and development of wild salmon and sea trout in Norwegian rivers. The organization represents management teams and aims to safeguard the interests of both the member teams and the general public. This is done through various measures that focus on the sustainable management of anadromous salmonids, including salmon, sea trout and sea trout, in line with current legislation.
Among the organisation's activities is the development of indicators for sea trout's vulnerability to salmon lice, as well as the implementation of traps to handle humpback salmon. Norske Lakseelver also works with reintroduction methods for salmon and recruiting young people for sport fishing. In addition, they collaborate with environmental and outdoor organizations to promote better water management and local management of salmon fishing. The organization also offers information and resources that are available to fishermen, which contributes to increased knowledge and commitment to conservation work.
