The Wøyen Foundation aims to strengthen child protection through the distribution of funds for various measures. The foundation prioritizes research and development activities within child protection, and emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge and advice to child protection personnel. This includes processing applications for project funds that are aimed at child protection measures.
Historically, the foundation has its background from orphanages, and has developed to finance projects involving children and young people's participation. In addition, it collaborates with educational institutions to promote research in child protection, which contributes to a better understanding and development of measures that benefit children and young people in vulnerable situations.
