The Centre for Multilingual Children and Young People (Fbu) is a resource centre that aims to support multilingual children and young people. The centre works with a focus on linguistic and social inclusion, and offers guidance services for kindergartens and schools. Through cooperation with several municipalities, Fbu contributes to quality development in the education system, and emphasizes research related to early intervention for minority language children.
Fbu also offers information available in several languages, which is an important part of their work to ensure that all children have access to the necessary information. The centre has established cooperation routines between kindergartens and schools to promote a holistic approach to multilingual children. In addition, they focus on competence development for kindergarten staff, and are implementing the project "Safe before 3" to raise the quality in early childhood departments.
