HAVINDUSTRITILSYNET has its main focus on ensuring high standards of safety, health and working environment within the petroleum and marine industry. The office offers inspections, reports and technical material, as well as arranging conferences and professional days for the industry. Through their work, they emphasize risk management and working environment, and they collaborate with international players to improve safety standards.
In addition to their inspection work, HAVINDUSTRITILSYNET conducts surveys to map risk levels in the industry. They also publish investigation reports and compliance statements that help to inform and guide players in the sector. The office was renamed from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to HAVINDUSTRITILSYNET on 1 January 2024, but still maintains its commitment to safety and working environment for everyone working with oil and gas on the Norwegian shelf.
