The West Coast Rescue Society aims to promote safety on the water through various courses and training opportunities. The organization offers courses in seamanship, first aid and safety, which are available to both members and other interested parties. In addition to the courses, they engage volunteers in rescue work, where over 1,200 rescuers man rescue boats to handle emergencies at sea.
A focus on preventing drowning and accidents is a central part of the Redningsselskapet's work. The organization emphasizes sustainable solutions and environmentally friendly practices in its activities. They also offer resources for children and young people, which include camps and educational programs, as well as the Sea Rescue School, which provides vocational training. By sharing stories about rescue operations and accidents, they contribute to increased awareness of safety on the water.
