Brinken kindergarten is a private parent-owned kindergarten inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy. The kindergarten emphasizes child participation and well-being, and offers a learning environment where children can explore and develop. There are three age groups, called Water, Earth and 2, which provide opportunities for adapted learning and social interaction.
The staff at Brinken kindergarten have varied expertise in art, crafts, drama, music and science, which contributes to a rich and varied educational offer. The kindergarten also participates in the "ReTro" network, which includes other kindergartens inspired by Reggio Emilia. The location in scenic surroundings gives children access to a natural playground, sea and forest, which promotes outdoor activities and nature experiences. The premises have been newly renovated since 2010, which provides a modern and welcoming environment for the children.
