The Council for folk music and folk dance is a competence center whose aim is to promote, protect and continue Norwegian traditions in folk music and folk dance. The organization works actively to preserve cultural heritage and offers a varied program of activities aimed at all age groups. Through courses and events, they give both beginners and experienced performers the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of folk music and folk dance.
In addition to its own activities, the Council for folk music and folk dance collaborates with both local and national actors. This collaboration contributes to a wider dissemination of the traditions and provides room for the exchange of knowledge and experiences. The organization thus functions as an important platform for the development and preservation of folk music and folk dance in Norway.
