Fredrikstad city centre Volunteer Centre is a socially oriented organisation that aims to promote community and social interaction in the local community. The organisation offers a range of services, including a visiting buddy scheme for the elderly, which helps to combat loneliness and strengthen relationships between people. They also provide support to newly arrived refugees, which helps them integrate and adapt to Norwegian society.
The Volunteer Centre organises various activities that are open to all residents, and works closely with Fredrikstad Municipality to develop and implement these activities. Through their work, they facilitate meaningful meetings between people, and engage volunteers to contribute actively to the local community. This creates an inclusive environment where everyone can participate and feel part of the community.
