Police Immigration is a department within the police in Oslo that is responsible for matters related to immigration and immigration administration. This department handles various tasks related to the control of entry, residence permits and deportations. It also works to ensure that laws and regulations on immigration are complied with.
The department collaborates with other authorities and organizations to promote an efficient and fair immigration process. This includes, among other things, the processing of asylum applications and follow-up of persons with temporary residence. Police Immigration also has an important role in informing about the rights and duties of both immigrants and Norwegian citizens.
