The Norsk Veteranskibsklub is an organization whose aim is to preserve maritime cultural history, with a particular focus on older steamships. The club conveys knowledge about these ships and their importance for Norwegian shipping and history. Through guided tours and visits on board the ships, visitors have the opportunity to learn more about maritime tradition and technology.
The club also offers the hire of the ships for special occasions, as well as arranging pleasure trips with DS Børøysund. In addition, the Norsk Veteranskibsklub focuses on providing historical perspectives on Oslo, the harbor and the islands. The organization engages in commemorative events for acts of war, which helps to preserve and communicate important history. The club is open to new members and volunteers who want to contribute to the work of preserving this part of the cultural heritage.
