Where can I charge an EV in Oslo or at Oslo Airport?
Airport charging, municipal chargers in Oslo, payment and fast charging.
Short answer
At Oslo Airport Gardermoen you can charge in the P10 and P11 car parks, and in Oslo the municipal chargers are paid for in the Bil i Oslo app. The airport chargers give up to 22 kW and you must bring your own Type 2 cable. There are also rapid chargers on level 4 of P10, the short-term car park.
Why
- Avinor lists 379 charging spaces in P10 on level 3 and 348 in P11 on level 1, now run by the operator Mer, and you can also pay with Vipps.
- Avinor says the parking fee comes in addition to the cost of charging.
- Oslo kommune says you pay the average spot price plus a fixed charge of NOK 0.81 per kWh in 2026, and you may only park in a charging space while the car is plugged in.
Details
All municipal charging stations are in the Bil i Oslo app, and you cannot pay for charging at a parking machine. Fast and semi-fast charging in Oslo is priced by each charging operator, so check the price at the station. The municipality also has 85 charging spaces in the car park at Akershus Fortress.
Tip
Register with the major charging providers before you arrive, which usually means installing their apps, so you can pay at the chargers you find.
What may differ
Visit Norway notes that an EV or plug-in hybrid needs Norwegian registration plates to use some parking spaces for electric cars, so foreign-registered cars may not get the same benefits.
