How much do tolls cost in Norway, and how can I calculate them?

Example rates in Oslo and Bergen, discounts and how to add up a route.

Short answer

Toll prices in Norway vary by project, fuel type and time of day: a petrol car pays NOK 38–47 per passage in Oslo and NOK 32–64 in Bergen. An AutoPASS agreement takes 20% off these prices. To calculate a trip, find each toll station on your route on the Statens vegvesen map and check its toll company's rates.

Why

  1. AutoPASS does not list rates itself and refers drivers to the toll company that owns each toll station.
  2. Fjellinjen's rates from 1 January 2026 are NOK 38 outside rush hour and NOK 47 in rush hour for a petrol car in Oslo, and NOK 21–26 for an electric car.
  3. In Bypakke Bergen a petrol car without an agreement pays NOK 32, or NOK 64 at marked stations in rush hour, while an electric car pays NOK 22 or NOK 44.

Details

Hourly rules limit the cost of repeated passages: in Bergen only the most expensive passage within 60 minutes is charged, and in Oslo you pay for one passage per hour in the inner rings and one at the city boundary. Foreign vehicles pay the highest rate if their fuel type or emission class is not registered. Each toll project has its own stations and rates, so a long trip can pass through several of them. For the Oslo area, Fjellinjen's toll calculator shows what a trip costs in and outside rush hour.

Tip

Register your car with Epass24 or sign an AutoPASS agreement before the trip, so you are charged the right rate for your fuel type.

What may differ

Vehicles over 3,500 kg are in a separate rate group, Oslo's rush-hour rates do not apply at weekends, on public holidays or in July, and zero-emission vehicles with an agreement get 30–100% off, depending on the project.
