- UDI asks for NOK 151,690 for the whole academic year, NOK 68,950 if you study only in the autumn semester and NOK 82,740 for the spring semester only.
- Ruter's student price for a 30-day ticket is NOK 393 for full-time students under 30 with a Norwegian student ID, against NOK 655 for adults.
- Statistics Norway's 2025 rental survey puts the average rent in Oslo and Bærum at NOK 10,090 for one room and NOK 15,260 for two rooms.
Details
If you have to pay tuition fees, UDI requires you to have money for them on top of the living costs. Student prices make leisure cheaper: the Oslo Museum venues are free up to and including age 25, and ODEON's Studentkino costs NOK 99. SiO, the student welfare organisation in Oslo, rents out student housing for single students, couples and families.
Tip
Apply for SiO student housing as soon as you have your admission letter, and compare the rent with the private market before you sign a contract.
