Do you have to clean the cabin yourself before you leave?
Final cleaning, departure checklists and DNT cabin chores.
Short answer
If final cleaning is included in the price or bought as an extra, you only need to leave the cabin tidy, and some cabins let you clean it yourself. This is how Novasol explains it, and you see the cleaning price when you book. At DNT cabins, guests wash dishes, countertops and floors before leaving.
Why
- Novasol says that if final cleaning is included in the rent or paid for, you only need to make sure the holiday home is tidy.
- If you choose to clean yourself, Novasol expects the home to be left thoroughly clean, in the state you would expect to find it.
- DNT says cutlery, plates, countertops and floors must be washed before you leave, and cleaning equipment and soap are provided.
Details
Most Novasol holiday homes have a checklist for departure, with tasks such as emptying the dishwasher and fridge, taking out the rubbish and putting furniture back. Novasol supplies no cleaning products, only a vacuum cleaner, a floor brush and a bucket. At a DNT cabin you also make the bed, bring in firewood for the next guest, empty the water containers and close the gas regulator.
Tip
If you plan to clean yourself, bring your own cleaning products, since Novasol does not supply them.
What may differ
Private owners and other rental companies set their own cleaning rules and fees, so read the rental terms.
