Where can I find a public toilet in Trondheim?
The city's toilet map, plus the station and the main library in the centre.
Short answer
Trondheim kommune marks all its public toilets in parks, green areas and public spaces on an online toilet map, which also shows fees and accessibility. In the city centre, Trondheim S station has toilets, including an accessible one, and the main library at Peter Egges plass has accessible toilets on several floors.
Why
- The municipality has gathered its public toilets in parks, green areas and public spaces on one map, and clicking a toilet shows whether it charges a fee, is open around the clock and is accessible.
- Bane NOR lists toilets, an accessible toilet, a baby changing room and a waiting room at Trondheim S, which opens at 03:45 on weekdays and closes at 23:45 every day.
- The library's own page lists an accessible toilet with changing tables for adults and babies on the ground floor of the main library, and accessible toilets on the second and third floors.
Details
The main library at Peter Egges plass 1 is open 09–18 from Monday to Thursday, 09–16 on Friday and 11–16 on Saturday, and 12–16 on Sunday except between 29 March and 4 October. In spring 2022 the municipality opened new toilet buildings by Festningen and at Grilstadfjæra, and the one at Festningen is accessible. The map covers the whole municipality, including the forest areas around the city.
Tip
Open the municipality's toilet map on your phone and tap the nearest dot to see whether it costs money or is open at night.
What may differ
Some toilets on the map are temporary units that are only put out in the summer season.
