Where can I find cheap parking in central Oslo?

City parking prices from Ring 1 to outside Ring 3, and cheaper options.

Answered at: Checked at:

Short answer

Street parking in central Oslo costs NOK 93 for the first hour inside Ring 1, so the cheapest municipal parking is in city car parks further out. Spaces between Ring 1 and Ring 3 cost NOK 71 an hour, and outside Ring 3 from NOK 21, some with a 24-hour rate of NOK 95. Electric cars pay about half.

Why

  1. The City of Oslo's 2026 tariffs charge NOK 93 for one hour and NOK 219 for two hours of street parking inside Ring 1, with a two-hour limit and NOK 47 an hour for electric cars.
  2. Parking spaces between Ring 1 and Ring 3 in tariff group 2250 cost NOK 71 an hour with no time limit, or NOK 36 for electric cars.
  3. Spaces outside Ring 3 in tariff group 2650 cost NOK 21 an hour or NOK 95 per 24 hours, and on Saturdays NOK 1 an hour or NOK 11 per 24 hours.

Details

For a full day in town, you can park outside Ring 3 and continue by metro: the whole metro network is in Ruter's zone 1, where a single adult ticket costs NOK 46. Fee hours are mostly 09:00–20:00, so municipal spaces are free in the evening and generally on Sundays. You can pay at the meter or in apps such as EasyPark, Apcoa Flow or ParkLink.

Tip

Use the City of Oslo's map of parking spaces to check the tariff group, and pay in an app so you pay only for the time you use.

What may differ

Private parking garages in the centre set their own prices, which are not covered by the city's tariffs, so compare them in a parking app before you go.
