Gyms in Sarpsborg: 6 fitness centres in the centre, at Tunejordet, in Vestengveien and at Borgenhaugen

The fitness centres in Sarpsborg fall into three areas: two in the centre, in the Storbyen shopping centre and in Pellygata, three in the west of the town, at Tunejordet and in the padel hall in Vestengveien, and one at Borgenhaugen, about three kilometres south-east of the railway station. The page shows where the door is open round the clock, where staff are present for the whole of the opening hours, and where you will find group classes, childcare or padel. The cards have the address and a short description.

Cards checked on 7 October 2026. Editor: Alex. Spotted a mistake? Leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Fitness centres in Sarpsborg on the map: from Lilletuneveien to Borgenhaugen

The map carries only the centres from this page. It is close to five kilometres in a straight line from the westernmost to the easternmost, so look at where you live before you choose. Tapping a point opens the card.

Which group suits you

The page is useful if you want to train at any hour, if you want staff and classes with an instructor, or if you want to combine strength training with padel.

Two in the centre, three in the west and one at Borgenhaugen: the distances

  • The centre in Storbyen lies about 670 metres from the railway station, the one in Pellygata about 430 metres.
  • At Tunejordet, Glomveien 6 and Lilletuneveien 6A have about 275 metres between them, close to two kilometres west of the station.
  • The padel hall at Vestengveien 40 lies about a kilometre south-west of Storbyen.
  • The centre at Borgenhaugen has the address Snekkerstubakken 26 and lies more than three kilometres from Storbyen.

The distances are measured in a straight line between the addresses. In the centre, one gym is based in the Storbyen shopping centre, at Roald Amundsens gate 36, and writes that you get two hours of free parking in the car park when you train. The gym at Pellygata 42 points to free parking in Oskars gate and a charge from 8 to 16 Monday to Saturday in the streets around it (the websites, read on 7 October 2026).

Tunejordet is the area of shops and car showrooms in the west of the town. The chain from Storbyen also had a centre there, in Vingulmorkveien: it closed on 1 July 2026 when the lease ran out, the chain writes, and the memberships were to be transferred to a nearby centre in the same chain.

The centre at Borgenhaugen is the only one on the page that lies east of the town centre, and the padel hall shares its address with a climbing club in the catalogue. More about the town is on the Sarpsborg page. The category Fitness and sports centres also holds pitches, halls, yoga studios and personal trainers, and guides from other towns are under Leisure and family.

Open round the clock in two places, staffed all day in one: access and staffing

  • Pellygata 42: open 24 hours all year and unstaffed; the duty phone is answered from 10 to 18 Monday to Friday.
  • Lilletuneveien 6A: open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Storbyen: Monday to Thursday 6.00 to 22.30, Friday until 21.00, Saturday 8.00 to 20.00 and Sunday 9.00 to 20.00, with staff the whole time.
  • Borgenhaugen: 5.00 to 23.00 every day, staffed for large parts of the time.
  • Vestengveien 40: 5.00 to 24.00 every day, staffed a few hours a day.

These hours were on the centres' own websites on 7 October 2026. In Vestengveien there are two figures: the page for the padel hall gives 5.00 to 24.00, the page for the gym in the same building 4.00 to 24.00. The staffing is the same on both: Monday to Thursday 10 to 13 and 16 to 19, Friday 16 to 20, Saturday 9.30 to 13 and Sunday 17 to 20.

On 6 October 2026 the shopping centre gave shorter hours for the gym in Storbyen than the gym itself does, so go by the gym's own page. It also gives the childcare hours: 9 to 12 and 16 to 20 Monday to Thursday, 9 to 12 on Friday, 8.30 to 13.30 on Saturday and 9.15 to 13.30 on Sunday.

The gym at Glomveien 6 showed only its menu when we opened the website on 7 October 2026: personal training, membership and house rules. An older version of the page in the search index gave access from 4.30 to 24.00 every day and staff from 15.30 to 19.00 on weekdays, but that has not been confirmed again.

Group classes, padel, childcare and age rules: what the centres state

  • Storbyen: group training, personal training, boot camp, body analysis, sauna and childcare.
  • Borgenhaugen: yoga, spinning, dance, running and strength classes, childcare, and links to squash and martial arts run by separate operators.
  • Lilletuneveien 6A: group classes, a daily shared workout with strength and conditioning, and a HYROX licence.
  • Vestengveien 40: eight padel courts and 1,000 square metres of training floor with group classes and HYROX.
  • Pellygata 42: machines, a cardio section, a functional zone and free weights.

In Vestengveien, padel and gym training are two separate arrangements. You book the courts in the Matchi app, while the gym has its own membership, and group classes and HYROX sessions are booked in the GoActive app. A trial session is arranged by contacting the centre.

Two of the centres state age rules. At Borgenhaugen you can start in the year you turn 15. In Vestengveien those between 13 and 15 can train together with a person over 18, and alone from the age of 16. The other centres gave no age limit on the pages we read.

Drop-in exists at both places in the centre: the gym in Storbyen sells drop-in with training on the gym floor and group classes that have a free place, and the gym in Pellygata sells drop-in only through its app. The membership in Pellygata also covers the chain's other centres in Østfold, with one exception named on the website. At Borgenhaugen you book childcare at the reception or by e-mail.

Questions and answers

Is there a gym in Sarpsborg that never closes?

Yes, two: the gym at Pellygata 42 and the one at Lilletuneveien 6A both state that they are open 24 hours a day all year (the websites, read on 7 October 2026). At both you let yourself in with the chain's app.

Is there still a gym in Vingulmorkveien at Tunejordet?

No. The chain writes that the centre there closed on 1 July 2026 because the lease ran out. At Tunejordet there are now gyms at Glomveien 6 and Lilletuneveien 6A.

Where can I play padel and do strength training in one place?

In the hall at Vestengveien 40, which has eight padel courts and a gym of 1,000 square metres. The courts are booked in the Matchi app, and the gym has its own membership.

Which centres have childcare?

The centre in Storbyen and the centre at Borgenhaugen. In Storbyen the childcare has its own hours, among them 9 to 12 and 16 to 20 Monday to Thursday, and at Borgenhaugen you book a place at the reception or by e-mail.

How old do you have to be to train?

It varies: the centre at Borgenhaugen accepts you from the year you turn 15, and the gym in Vestengveien from 13 together with an adult over 18 and from 16 alone. The other centres gave no limit on the pages we read on 7 October 2026.

Where do I park at the gyms in the centre?

The gym in Storbyen writes that you get two hours free in the shopping centre's car park when you train. The gym in Pellygata points to free parking in Oskars gate, while the streets around it charge from 8 to 16 Monday to Saturday.

How we make this guide

The centres on this page are chosen by the NorgeGuide editorial team. Payment affects neither the selection nor the order. The order within the groups is free and says nothing about quality.
