How much does the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes cost?
Car and motorhome prices, reservation fees and AutoPASS discounts.
Short answer
A car up to 6 metres costs NOK 605 at full price on the Bodø to Moskenes ferry, while foot passengers travel free if they do not reserve a seat. Reserving is optional and adds NOK 130 for a car or NOK 65 for an adult on foot. Longer vehicles pay more, from NOK 1,302 for 6–8 metres.
Why
- Torghatten Nord, which runs the route, lists full prices by vehicle length: NOK 177 for a motorcycle, NOK 605 for 0–6 metres and NOK 1,302 for 6–8 metres.
- Torghatten Nord states that travellers without a vehicle who do not book a reserved spot travel free of charge.
- The national AutoPASS fare regulation from 2025 says the vehicle fare covers the driver and that passengers travel free.
Details
A reserved place for a child, military or honnør passenger on foot costs NOK 35. With an AutoPASS for ferry prepayment agreement, private customers get 50 per cent off journeys in the AutoPASS scheme. Without an agreement you can pay by card to the crew; otherwise an invoice with a NOK 35 fee is sent to the vehicle owner.
Tip
Book a reservation mainly when you need a guaranteed place, as in summer: it costs NOK 130 extra for a car, while the regular queue costs nothing beyond the ticket.
What may differ
Motorhomes and cars with trailers pay by total length: NOK 1,302 for 6–8 metres and NOK 1,677 for 8–10 metres at full price. Electric and hydrogen vehicles have their own category in the AutoPASS price calculator.
