Why

  1. Torghatten Nord's route page links to a winter timetable for 2026–2027 valid from 7 September, after the summer timetable that ran until 6 September.
  2. The route is a national road ferry contracted by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and operated by Torghatten Nord.
  3. Visit Lofoten says the trip via Røst and Værøy takes about seven hours and that the schedule differs between winter and summer.

Details

Not every Lofoten ferry runs all year: according to Visit Lofoten, the ferry from Skutvik via Skrova to Svolvær only operates from 1 June to 31 August. The Bognes to Lødingen ferry, the usual crossing for drivers from the south, has its own winter timetable for 2026/2027. Visit Lofoten recommends the Reis or Entur apps for departure times.

Tip

On the day you travel, look at the service messages page on Torghatten's website as well as the timetable, especially in rough winter weather.

What may differ

Departures can differ around Christmas, New Year and Easter, since Torghatten's timetables take public holidays into account.
