Are there direct flights from the USA to Norway?

Nonstop flights to Oslo, airlines and what changes by season.

Answered at: Checked at:

Short answer

Yes, there are direct flights from the East Coast of the US to Norway, and SAS flies nonstop between New York and Oslo in just under eight hours. In December 2025 SAS listed two daily flights from Oslo to New York, to JFK and Newark. Norwegian now flies within Scandinavia, Europe and nearby regions, not to the US.

Why

  1. Visit Norway states that there are direct flights to Norway from many destinations in Europe and from the Eastern coast of the US.
  2. SAS wrote in December 2025 that it offers two daily flights from Oslo to New York, to JFK and Newark.
  3. In September 2026 SAS described its New York flights from the Scandinavian capitals as a direct flight lasting just under eight hours.

Details

SAS also lists direct flights from Scandinavia to Boston and Washington Dulles, but its route guide does not say these leave from Oslo, so check whether they go via Copenhagen or Stockholm. Avinor's direct routes pages for Oslo and Bergen show which destinations have nonstop flights.

Tip

Filter your flight search for nonstop flights to OSL, and compare them with one-stop options via Copenhagen or Stockholm.
