Can I use a Flytoget ticket more than once, and how long is it valid?
One trip per ticket, validity in the app and online, and tap-to-pay.
Short answer
A Flytoget ticket covers one trip on one route, regardless of direction, so you cannot reuse it, but it is not tied to a particular departure. An app ticket is valid from purchase until you pass the gates at your destination; an online ticket lasts for the validity period shown on it. Returns come as two single tickets.
Why
- Flytoget's online sales terms say a ticket applies from the time of purchase, for one trip on one route regardless of direction, but not for a set departure time.
- In the Flytoget app the ticket is valid until you pass the gates at your destination, and it stays visible for inspection for two hours after that.
- If you tap a bank card at the station instead of buying a ticket, the payment only covers a trip made straight after you tap.
Details
The Kiss & Fly ticket is the exception: it lets you return free within 3 hours of purchase. Flytoget does not refund lost tickets or single tickets, and its tickets are not valid on other trains or buses. If you had a valid ticket but could not show it at inspection, you can avoid the fee by sending proof to Flytoget's customer service within three days.
Tip
Buy one ticket per trip, or simply tap your bank card on the reader before boarding; children under 16 travel free with someone over 16.
Common misconception
A Flytoget ticket works like a day pass and can be used again on the same day.
What actually happens
It covers one trip on one route; only the Kiss & Fly ticket includes a free return within 3 hours.
