Why

  1. Visit Narvik lists bus 100 between Narvik and Tromsø as one of the most popular routes in Northern Norway.
  2. Visit Tromsø states that long-distance buses connect Tromsø with Narvik all year, with a daily bus from Bodø and Fauske to Tromsø via Narvik.
  3. Best Arctic's Arctic Route runs daily from 1 December to 31 March, leaving Tromsø at 09:00 and Narvik at 14:00, and takes about four hours.

Details

On the Arctic Route the full trip costs NOK 790, only card payment is accepted on board, and stops include Bardufoss and Polar Park. In Narvik the Arctic Route stops at the train station and outside the Scandic and Quality hotels, not at the bus terminal. Timetables for bus 100 are on reisnordland.no.

Tip

Arctic weather and road conditions can extend driving times, so allow a margin if you have a train or flight to catch.

What may differ

The Arctic Route only runs in winter. Trains from Stockholm and Kiruna arrive in Narvik, and bus connections continue to Tromsø from there.
