When do check-in and bag drop close for Norwegian flights?
Check-in, bag drop and boarding deadlines, and the exceptions.
Short answer
Norwegian closes check-in and bag drop 30 minutes before domestic flights and 45 minutes before most international flights, and boarding closes 20 minutes before departure. Airport check-in opens two hours before departure, and online check-in opens 48 hours before most flights within Europe. Flights to places such as Istanbul or Antalya close check-in one hour before.
Why
- Norwegian's own deadline table sets check-in closing at 30 minutes before domestic flights, except at Stockholm Arlanda, where it is 45 minutes.
- For flights to or from the UAE, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Geneva, Istanbul, Beirut, Tbilisi and Antalya, check-in opens three hours and closes one hour before departure.
- Norwegian does not give a separate bag drop deadline, so checked bags must be handed in within the check-in deadline.
Details
Passengers who need special assistance, travel as unaccompanied minors or bring pets, musical instruments or weapons must check in at the counter at least one hour before departure. Sports equipment must also be handed in at least one hour before. If online check-in is not available to you within 48 hours before departure, you must check in at the airport.
Tip
On an early flight from Oslo Airport, you can drop your bags between 19:00 and 22:00 the evening before if the flight leaves before 08:00 and you have no special baggage.
What may differ
Passengers who need special assistance should check in by one hour before domestic flights and two hours before international flights.
