How do I get between Oslo Airport and the city at night or for a very early flight?
Flytoget, Flybussen, taxis and airport hotels for night and early-morning trips.
Short answer
Flytoget runs every 20 minutes early in the morning and late at night, and at other times you can take a flat-rate airport taxi or stay at an airport hotel. Flybussen adds night departures in summer. Check the first train in the Flytoget or Entur app the day before.
Why
- Visit Oslo says Flytoget runs every 10 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes early in the morning, late at night, at weekends and in school holidays.
- Visit Norway's Flybussen listing says the coaches run from early morning until late evening and add night departures in summer at slightly higher prices.
- Avinor notes that several airlines recommend arriving at least 2 hours before departure, so a 6 am flight means reaching the airport around 4 am.
Details
Oslo Taxi and other companies have airport taxis with flat rates, which depend on the time of day, the number of passengers and where in Oslo you start; once you choose a taxi, it picks you up within five minutes. Radisson RED is connected to the terminal, so you can walk in without going outside, and Radisson Blu Airport Hotel is a short walk away.
Tip
For a night trip, check the flat airport fare for your address and time with the taxi company in advance, since rates change with the time of day.
What may differ
As of 15 October 2026 a train drivers' strike was affecting Vy trains to and from Oslo Airport, while Avinor said Flytoget was running as normal.
