Is Oslo Airport open 24 hours, and can I sleep there?
Opening hours, nearby hotels and early-morning tips.
Short answer
Oslo Airport Gardermoen is open around the clock, so the terminal does not close at night between the last and the first flights. For a bed, the Radisson RED hotel is close enough to walk to the terminal without going outside. Vy's shuttle buses to other nearby hotels run 74 times a day.
Why
- Avinor's contact page for the airport states that Oslo lufthavn is open around the clock.
- Avinor says that from Radisson RED you can walk to the terminal without getting wet, and Radisson Blu Airport Hotel is also a short walk away.
- Vy runs the shuttle routes S22, S44 and S55 between the airport and nearby hotels 74 times a day.
Details
Some services keep shorter hours than the terminal: OSL Lounge for international flights is open 05:15–20:30, and Fast Track security opens at 05:00 on weekdays and 06:00 at weekends. The shuttle to Thon Hotel Oslo Airport runs from 04:40 to 01:10 and costs NOK 80 each way.
Tip
If you fly Norwegian before 08:00, you can drop your bags at Oslo Airport between 19:00 and 22:00 the evening before.
What may differ
Not every Norwegian airport stays open at night: the terminal in Tromsø opens two hours before the first departure and closes after the last arrival.
