How is Oslo Airport laid out, and how many terminals does it have?

One terminal, the gate letters, the G gates and where to find maps.

Short answer

Oslo Airport Gardermoen has a single terminal building, with domestic and international areas and gates lettered from A to G. The domestic lounges are by the A gates, and the international lounges are by gate E2. Avinor publishes separate maps of the departure and arrival areas, and the railway station lies below the terminal.

Why

  1. Avinor's departure map shows gates A to G, and its arrival map shows domestic and international baggage reclaim.
  2. The airport opened on 8 October 1998 as a single terminal, and a north pier with 11 gates was added in 2017.
  3. The G gates are eight domestic gates that Avinor has used for Schengen flights at busy morning hours, reached by a shuttle bus every three minutes.

Details

The B gates are on the south pier, and the F gates at the eastern end of the terminal serve non-Schengen flights. Avinor's maps also mark shops, restaurants, toilets and other services. Flytoget and Vy trains stop at the station in the tunnel below the airport, and the taxi stand is right outside the international arrivals hall.

Tip

Open Avinor's airport map before you travel, and allow extra time if your gate starts with G, because you need to take a shuttle bus to get there.

What may differ

Avinor introduced the G-gate shuttle as a measure for busy summer traffic, so it may not be in use when you travel.
