How do I send or share a Vy ticket with someone else?
Buying for others on vy.no and adding the ticket in the Vy app with the reference code.
Short answer
You can buy a Vy ticket for someone else and send it to their phone, where they add it in the Vy app using the reference code. The code is in the email receipt, and the traveller enters it under Ticket and Add ticket. The same ticket cannot be on more than one device.
Why
- Vy's customer service says that if you want to buy a ticket for others, you can choose to send it to another mobile.
- A ticket bought on vy.no is collected in the Vy app under Ticket, Add ticket, by entering the reference code from the email receipt.
- Vy points out that you cannot have the same ticket on several devices.
Details
This applies to single tickets and period tickets bought on vy.no. Vy's English app guide lists importing tickets bought by someone else as one of the ticket features in the app.
Tip
Forward the email receipt, or just the reference code, to the person travelling so they can add the ticket in their own Vy app before the trip.
What may differ
Moving a ticket that is already in your app to a new phone or to another person's Vy profile is covered by a separate question in Vy's help pages.
