How can I see where my Vy bus or train is right now?
Live train map and alerts in the Vy app, real-time bus departures in Entur.
Short answer
You can follow your Vy train live on a map in the Vy app, while the Entur app shows bus departures with real-time updates where data is available. The map is in the journey planner, and the app can also alert you to changes and delays. Vy does not describe a live map for buses.
Why
- Vy lists tracking your train live on the map, through the journey planner, as one of the features of the Vy app.
- The Vy app can notify you of changes or deviations that affect your departure, but Vy says this applies to trains only.
- The national Entur app covers bus, train, metro, boat and plane across Norway and shows delays with real-time updates where the information is available.
Details
Push notifications are switched on in the Vy app under Profile, Travel preferences, Notifications. The app also shows how busy each carriage is, so you can choose where to board. Entur also shows the line number and operator for each line.
Tip
For a Vy bus, check the departure in Entur just before you leave home, since delays show up there in real time where the operator shares the data.
What may differ
Live map tracking in the Vy app is described for trains; for buses, how much real-time information you see depends on the data available in Entur.

- When does the next bus leave?
