Where can I refill my water bottle in Oslo and at Oslo Airport?

Water stations at Gardermoen and tap water in the city.

Short answer

At Oslo Airport you can refill your bottle at signposted water stations, including two just after security, and in Oslo itself tap water is safe to drink. Bring an empty bottle through security and fill it airside. In the city you can fill it from the tap where you stay, as Oslo's drinking water is of high quality.

Practical Norway: plugs, tap water and more a water bottle being filled at a public tap, a locker and a small clock showing opening hours

Why

  1. Avinor says there are two drink stations immediately after security and that all filling stations are marked with signs.
  2. In the domestic area you can refill by gates A10, B2 and C4, on international flights by gates D4 and E12, and in the non-Schengen area between F17 and F19 and just before and after F26.
  3. The City of Oslo says the city's drinking water is of high quality and safe to drink unless the city gives notice otherwise.

Details

When you land, there is water by Customs in the baggage hall for international arrivals, and in the domestic arrivals hall there is a water station between Wagamama and the WHSmith kiosk. Visit Norway notes that tap water is drinkable everywhere in Norway and tastes good, so there is no need to buy bottled water.

Tip

Pack an empty bottle in your hand luggage: it passes security empty, and you can fill it at the stations right after the checkpoint.

What may differ

If the City of Oslo issues a notice about the water in your area, follow its advice until the notice is lifted.
