Can I exchange money at Oslo or Bergen Airport?
Exchange office, currency ATMs and limits.
Short answer
You can exchange money at Oslo Airport, where Loomis has an exchange office in arrivals open 06:00–22:00 daily, but Avinor lists only currency ATMs at Bergen Airport. The Oslo office serves passengers flying to or from abroad, who must show a passport or national ID card, and exchange is capped at NOK 25,000 a day.
Why
- Loomis says it has 31 ATMs and an exchange office in the arrivals hall at Oslo Airport, where you can also change unused foreign currency back to kroner.
- Avinor sets a limit of NOK 25,000 per day and NOK 100,000 per year at the Oslo exchange office, and kroner amounts over NOK 5,000 require proof that the money was acquired in Norway.
- At Bergen Airport, Loomis ATMs stand in the domestic and international areas and in both arrivals halls, and each one is labelled with the currencies it offers.
Details
At Oslo Airport there are ATMs before and after security, on the pier to passport control, on pier north by the C gates and in the arrivals hall. The currencies differ by machine: the ATM after passport control by gate E14 offers only THB, USD, GBP and AED. At Bergen Airport the ATMs in arrivals offer EUR, USD, GBP, DKK, NOK, PLN, HUF and CZK.
Tip
In Bergen, if you need to exchange banknotes rather than withdraw cash, FOREX Bank has a shop near the harbour at Strandkaien 2 B, open 09:00–18:00 on weekdays.
What may differ
The Oslo exchange office is only for passengers travelling by plane to or from a destination outside Norway, so domestic passengers cannot use it.
