Where can I exchange money in Oslo?
Exchange offices in the city and at the airport, opening hours and ID.
Short answer
In Oslo you can exchange money at the five FOREX stores, including one at Jernbanetorget by Oslo Central Station, and at Loomis at Oslo Airport. FOREX sells around 80 currencies and buys back leftover notes for kroner. The Loomis branch in the arrivals hall is open daily 06:00–22:00. Bring a passport or other valid photo ID.
Why
- FOREX lists five stores in Oslo: Jernbanetorget 1, Karl Johans gate 2, Schweigaards gate 6, Smalgangen 10 and Stovner Senter 3.
- The FOREX store at Jernbanetorget 1 is open 08:00–21:00 on weekdays and 09:00–19:00 on Saturdays, and it is closed on Sundays.
- Avinor lists Loomis at Oslo Airport with currency ATMs and an exchange branch in the arrivals hall that is open every day.
Details
You can also order currency on the FOREX website and collect it in a store, with free delivery to the store. When you sell currency back, FOREX pays you in cash, free of charge if you show the FOREX receipt and for NOK 50 without it. Rates shown online can differ from the rates in the stores.
Tip
Keep the receipt when you buy currency at FOREX: with it, selling leftover notes back costs nothing instead of NOK 50.
What may differ
The store at Jernbanetorget is closed on Sundays, and other FOREX stores have their own opening hours. The Loomis branch at the airport is open every day.
