Can I have Vipps on two phones or more than one Vipps account?
One device at a time, one profile per person, several cards.
Short answer
No, Vipps' terms say you can only be active on one device at a time, and each person can have only one Vipps user agreement. When you log in on another phone, you must confirm your identity. You can, however, add several cards and accounts to your one profile and switch between them.
Why
- Section 3.1 of the Vipps private user terms (version 1.4, 30 September 2026) says you can only be active on one device at a time.
- Under section 2.2, your national identity number can only be linked to one user agreement, so a second Vipps profile in your name is not possible.
- Vipps sends an SMS every time the app is installed on a new device, so you can quickly spot if someone else has gained access.
Details
Devices you have used are listed in the app under Sikkerhet og personvern and Enheter, where Glem enhet removes one. Several cards and accounts make it easy to switch, for example when shopping online, and you keep the benefits and bonus points linked to each card. If you change your phone number, the terms say you can delete the profile and register again as a new user.
Tip
If another family member wants Vipps, they need their own profile: Vipps lists BankID, a Norwegian phone number and an account in a Norwegian bank among the requirements.
What may differ
Children under 15 use a Vipps U15 profile, and both parents have access to the payments and messages sent or received in the child's profile.
