How much does it cost to send a postcard or letter from Norway?
Posten's 2026 stamp prices, sizes and delivery times.
Short answer
A postcard or small letter from Norway costs NOK 37 to Europe, NOK 44 to the rest of the world and NOK 28 within Norway. These prices for Posten's smallest size, up to 25 x 17.6 cm, have applied since 1 February 2026. Postcards without goods only need stamps, and delivery to Europe takes 4–9 days.
Why
- Posten's stamp price list from 1 February 2026 sets the smallest size, Lite, at NOK 28 in Norway, NOK 37 to Europe and NOK 44 outside Europe.
- A larger letter in the Stort size, up to 35.3 x 25 x 2 cm, costs NOK 46 in Norway, NOK 60 to Europe and NOK 74 outside Europe.
- Posten gives delivery times abroad of 4–7 days to the Nordic countries, 4–9 days to Europe, 4–8 days to the USA and 5–10 days to the rest of the world.
Details
Postcards and letters without goods are sent with stamps, and Posten asks you to mark stamped letters abroad 'A-Priority'. If a letter contains goods or a gift, you fill in a digital customs form, or pay NOK 38 extra for Posten to register the information. Within Norway, letters normally take 2–3 days.
Tip
Post cards for other countries well before you want them to arrive, since delivery outside Europe can take up to 10 days.
What may differ
Posten sets prices by size, so a thick or oversized card moves into the Stort size, which costs NOK 46–74.
