Hairdressers in Trondheim: 8 salons and barbers in Midtbyen and outside the centre

This page lists hairdressers and barbers in Trondheim: salons in Midtbyen (the city centre), barbershops and salons outside the centre. It helps you choose a salon by area and by what you need done, whether a cut, colour or a beard trim: each card has an address and a short description, and the link to the salon's website is in the card.

How to choose: area first, then service

  • The Midtbyen group brings together salons in the city-centre streets: Munkegata, Kongens gate and Thomas Angells gate.
  • The barbers are grouped by service, not by area: one is in Midtbyen, one on Innherredsveien east of the centre.
  • Outside the centre there is a neighbourhood salon at Havstad and a salon in the Sirkus Shopping centre.
  • The chains have several salons in the city, and this page shows one branch of each.

The salons are grouped by area, so that you can choose a hairdresser close to work, your place of study or home. The Midtbyen group suits you when you are in the centre anyway: the addresses are on Munkegata, Kongens gate and Thomas Angells gate, a few minutes' walk from one another. The group outside the centre is for those who would rather have the hairdresser on the way home: at Havstad, along Byåsveien, or in the Sirkus Shopping centre on Falkenborgvegen, where you can get a haircut on the same trip as your shopping.

The barbers have a group of their own because the service is different: men's cuts, skin fades, beard trims and straight-razor shaves. One barbershop is on Carl Johans gate in Midtbyen, the other on Innherredsveien east of the centre. Ordinary hair salons cut men's hair too, and one of the salons in the centre lists shaving: you will find it in the card description.

This page is a selection, not a complete list. In the directory, the category Hair Salons & Haircare has more than a hundred cards, and barbers have a category of their own, Barbershops: in both you can search by name or address. More about the city is on the Trondheim page, and guides on other topics are collected under Rating of popular places.

Before you book: branch, cancellation and price

  • You book the appointment on the salon's own website: the link is in the card.
  • At the chains, each branch has its own booking page.
  • The cancellation deadline is usually 24 hours, or the day before at the latest.
  • The cards do not show prices: the price list is on the salon's website.

The salons on this page take online bookings, according to their own websites (read on 5 October 2026). Booking goes through the salon's website or a booking system it links to, and you pick the treatment and the time yourself. Chain salons have a separate booking page for each branch, and the opening hours apply to the individual branch. So look at the address before you confirm the appointment.

A late cancellation can cost money. Several of the salons state a deadline of 24 hours, or the day before the appointment at the latest, and a fee if you cancel later. One of the salons asks you to cancel by phone. The deadline and the fee are stated on the booking page.

If you want several treatments in one visit, for example a cut and colour or a cut and beard trim, select all of them when you book, so that enough time is set aside. One of the salons asks new customers to call instead of booking online for highlights and bridal styling.

Prices are not shown in the cards, and one of the chains asks you to check the exact price with the individual salon. Two things can make a haircut cheaper: some salons in the centre have apprentices and junior stylists who cut at a lower price, and some give a student discount, in some cases only from Monday to Thursday. Both are mentioned in the card description when the salon offers them.

Opening hours: evening appointments, Saturday and Sunday

  • On weekdays most of the salons close between 16:00 and 18:00.
  • Evening appointments: the salon in the shopping centre stays open until 21:00, and one city-centre salon until 20:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • Saturday: closing time varies from 13:00 to 20:00.
  • Sunday: none of the salons lists opening hours.

The times here are taken from the salons' own websites (read on 5 October 2026). On weekdays the salons open at 9:00 or 10:00, and most close between 16:00 and 18:00. If you need an appointment after work, you have two options: the salon in the shopping centre stays open until 21:00 on weekdays, and one of the salons in Midtbyen is open until 20:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Saturday is the shortest day. The neighbourhood salon closes as early as 13:00, the salons in the centre and the barbers between 15:00 and 18:00, and the salon in the shopping centre at 20:00. None of them lists Sunday as an open day.

The opening hours in the cards may differ from the salon's own, and some salons take customers outside regular hours by arrangement, in some places for a surcharge. The time on the salon's website is the one that counts, so look there on the day you are going.

Questions and answers

Where can I find a hairdresser in Trondheim city centre?

In the Midtbyen group: the salons are on Munkegata, Kongens gate and Thomas Angells gate. A barbershop on Carl Johans gate is in the Barbers group.

Are hairdressers open on Sundays?

No, none of the salons on this page lists Sunday opening hours. On Saturdays the salons are open, but several close early in the afternoon.

Which hairdresser is open in the evening?

The salon in the shopping centre, in the group Outside the centre, lists opening hours until 21:00 on weekdays, and one salon in Midtbyen until 20:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays (the salons' websites, read on 5 October 2026). The others close between 16:00 and 18:00.

How do I book an appointment at the hairdresser?

On the salon's own website: the link is in the card. The chains have a booking page for each branch, so pick the branch with the address you have chosen.

How much does a haircut cost?

The cards do not say: you will find the price list on the salon's website. Some salons have apprentices or junior stylists who cut at a lower price, and some give a student discount.

Can I walk in without booking an appointment?

The cards say nothing about walk-ins. All the salons take online bookings, and if you want an appointment the same day, calling is the quickest way: the phone number is in most of the cards.

Do the salons cut children's hair?

Yes, several of them: children's haircuts are mentioned in the description in some of the cards, at both hairdressers and barbers. If you do not find the word in the card, the treatments are listed on the salon's website.
