Physiotherapist in Haugesund: 10 clinics in the centre, at Solvang and in the north of town
Haugesund municipality lists ten institutes where physiotherapists hold an operating grant (driftstilskudd), and nine of them have a card here: three in the centre, four around Solvang and the sports park, and two in the north of town, at Gard and Bleikemyr. The tenth card is a fully private clinic in the Gard-senteret shopping centre. The cards show the street address and a short description. The phone number on a card is not always the one the municipality gives: see the advice on phone numbers further down.
City centre: Skippergata, Sørhauggata and Møllervegen
Solvang and the sports park: four addresses north-east of the centre
Gard and Bleikemyr: the north of town

Operating grants in Haugesund: look at the name, not just the building
- The municipal list was last changed on 24 September 2026 and has ten institutes.
- On Skjoldavegen, in Sørhauggata and in Myrullvegen there are also therapists without an agreement.
- The clinic on the second floor of Gard-senteret is fully private.
The list is called Fysioterapeuter med driftstilskudd and is on the website of Haugesund municipality. It goes name by name and gives the percentage where the grant is not full. The municipality writes that you do not need a referral from a doctor to trigger reimbursement, that you pay a user fee (egenandel) at a physiotherapist with an agreement, and that you must contact the institute yourself to get an appointment.
In three places knowing the address is not enough. The clinic on Skjoldavegen writes that it offers physiotherapy both with and without a municipal agreement: its website lists eleven therapists, the municipality four. The health centre in Sørhauggata shows four physiotherapists, and one is described there as private, while the municipality lists the same name as a stand-in until the end of 2026. The institute in Myrullvegen itself states that two of four have the right to Helfo reimbursement and that one works without an agreement; the municipality has three names from there.
The national rules are on helsenorge.no, on the page Egenandel hos fysioterapeut, last updated by Helfo on 1 August 2026. Your costs are covered only when the physiotherapist has both an operating grant from the municipality and direct settlement with Helfo; without that you pay the whole bill yourself. You pay no user fee before you turn 18, with an exemption card, or for an approved occupational injury. The exemption card arrives once your user fees in 2026 have passed 3,278 kroner, and the physiotherapist is obliged to tell you if she or he has no direct settlement.
The clinic on the second floor of Gard-senteret itself writes that it has no public agreement. The institute in the sports park states that all its physiotherapists have an agreement with the municipality and Helfo.
The addresses: health centre, local shopping centre and sports hall
- Nygårdsvegen 6 is Gard-senteret, and two of the cards have that address.
- Hanne Hauglands veg 14 is the sports hall in the sports park.
- Skjoldavegen 68 shares its address with a grocery shop, a hairdresser and a gym.
In the centre the three addresses lie within about 600 metres. From the health centre in Sørhauggata it is roughly 150 metres to Skippergata 14 and just under 600 metres to Møllervegen 22 in a straight line. The health centre gives Skåregata 112 on its own website, while the card has Sørhauggata 111: these are two sides of the same block. The catalogue has several doctors' offices at both addresses, so have the name of the institute ready before you walk in.
Around Solvang there are four addresses between 1 and 1.7 kilometres north-east of the centre. From Skjoldavegen 68 it is a little over 400 metres north to the sports hall at Hanne Hauglands veg 14, where the institute writes that patients park free of charge outside the hall. Fredrikke Nielsens veg 12 lies just under 400 metres east of Espevikvegen 18.
In the north of town, Nygårdsvegen 6 is about 1.7 kilometres from the centre. Two cards belong there, and both practices give the second floor. One is listed by the municipality under the name of the hospital in the centre, while the card carries the physiotherapist's own name. Myrullvegen 5 is at Bleikemyr, by the community house, almost three kilometres north of the centre.
Appointments, phone and opening hours
- Espevikvegen: phone only, Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm.
- The sports park: weekdays 7.30 am to 4.30 pm, cancel at least 24 hours ahead.
- Fully private in Gard-senteret: until 8 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
The cards carry no opening hours: the times above were read on the clinics' own websites on 7 October 2026.
Three of the cards have a different phone number from the municipality's. For Møllervegen and Myrullvegen the list gives one mobile number per physiotherapist, and for Fredrikke Nielsens veg a mobile number where the card has a landline. The institute in Myrullvegen repeats the personal numbers on its website and asks for cancellation at least 24 hours before the appointment. In the sports park the whole session must be paid for if the deadline is missed.
Online booking exists, among other places, at the health centre in Sørhauggata, on Skjoldavegen and at the fully private clinic. On Skjoldavegen it is reserved for private patients and insurance cases; if you are going to one of the physiotherapists with an agreement there, the clinic asks you to get in touch directly. The fully private clinic also states home visits.
The municipal list also says what competence each therapist has: psychomotor physiotherapy in Skippergata and Møllervegen, manual therapists in the sports park and in Sørhauggata, lymphoedema treatment in Sørhauggata and in Gard-senteret, and two specialists in paediatric physiotherapy in Myrullvegen. The tenth institute, at Haraldsgata 90, is not included here. Chiropractors, naprapaths and other practitioners in town are in the category Rehabilitation and wellness centres; overviews from other towns are under Health and medicine. For acute and serious illness or injury, 113 applies, not this page.

How we make the overview
The clinics on this page are chosen by the NorgeGuide editorial team. Payment affects neither the selection nor the order. The order within the groups is free and says nothing about quality: the editors do not assess the treatment.
