Physiotherapist in Sandefjord: 10 clinics in Gleditschgården, by Aagaards plass and at Kilen

Six physiotherapy institutes in the centre of Sandefjord are on the municipal list of physiotherapists with an operating agreement (driftsavtale), and four of them share one building: Gleditschgården at Dronningens gate 3. Here you get them floor by floor, together with four practices that are not on that list: on Jernbanealleen, by Torget, at Kilen Brygge and on Fresiaveien. The cards give the street address and a short description, and nearly all have a phone number.

Cards checked on 7 October 2026. Editor: Alex. Found a mistake? Leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Gleditschgården: who is on which floor

  • Second floor: the institute that writes that all its physiotherapists have an operating agreement.
  • Third floor: the institute listed with seven names by the municipality.
  • Fourth floor: the institute with one manual therapist and two psychomotor physiotherapists.
  • The fourth practice in the building has one specialist in psychomotor physiotherapy.

Dronningens gate 3 is the address on four of the cards, and all four are on the municipal list. The building is about 300 metres west of Torget, the main square. The directory also has doctors' surgeries, dentists and a laboratory at the same address, so know the name of the institute and the floor before you go in.

The floors are taken from the institutes' own websites and from the municipality on 7 October 2026: one institute states the 2nd floor, one the 3rd, and the municipality lists the third on the 4th floor. The institute on the 4th floor states Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm and asks that appointments are booked and cancelled by phone, not by e-mail.

The fourth practice is small: the municipality lists one physiotherapist there. The card has no phone number, but the municipal list does.

The institute on the 3rd floor writes that it has specialists in, among other things, sports physiotherapy and manual therapy, and the institute on the 2nd floor mentions neurological physiotherapy, Mensendieck, lymphoedema treatment and groups. These are the institutes' own words.

Agreement with the municipality: what the list says, and who is not on it

  • Six institutes in the centre are on the list: on Dronningens gate, by Aagaards plass and on Storgata.
  • Four cards on this page are not: Jernbanealleen, Torget, Kilen Brygge and Fresiaveien.
  • The municipality writes that you do not need a referral from a doctor, and that prices are posted in the waiting room.
  • The exemption card (frikort) threshold is NOK 3,278 in 2026.

Sandefjord municipality has gathered the physiotherapists with an agreement under the heading Fysioterapeut med kommunal driftsavtale. It says there that you can contact a physiotherapy institute directly, that you pay a user fee (egenandel) at the current rates, and that price information is found in the waiting room. The page is undated: we read it on 7 October 2026.

The centre by Aagaards plass is listed with seven names and the institute on Storgata with two. The names are those of the physiotherapists, not of the house, and by Aagaards plass one name was marked as on leave and one as a substitute when we read it. Institutes in Andebu, Stokke and Kodal are on the list too, but are not included here.

The rules for the whole country are published by Helfo on helsenorge.no: the page is called Egenandel hos fysioterapeut and was last updated on 1 August 2026. If the physiotherapist has no agreement on an operating subsidy, you must cover all costs yourself. If there is an agreement, you pay no user fee before you turn 18, nor with an exemption card or an approved occupational injury. The municipality adds that user fees are registered automatically, and that the rest of the calendar year is free once the threshold is reached.

The clinic on Jernbanealleen and the practices by Torget, at Kilen Brygge and on Fresiaveien are not on the list, and the websites we could open say nothing about an agreement. Ask about price and coverage when you book.

Opening hours and booking outside Gleditschgården

  • Jernbanealleen: open until 9 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, phone hours 8 am to 4 pm.
  • Kilen Brygge: appointments by phone or e-mail, weekdays 8 am to 5 pm.
  • Aagaards plass: the centre states that it is open five days a week.
  • Storgata, Torget and Fresiaveien: phone only.

The clinic on Jernbanealleen is multidisciplinary. Its website lists two physiotherapists alongside chiropractors, osteopaths and other therapists, and the card here is for one of the two. The clinic states Monday and Wednesday 8 am to 9 pm, Tuesday 7 am to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 7 pm and Friday 7 am to 5 pm, and has online booking (read on 7 October 2026). If insurance is to pay, the clinic wants to know in advance.

The practice at Kilen Brygge is run by one physiotherapist and, according to its website, has been there since September 2023. The address is Kilgata 11, a good 650 metres south-east of Torget.

The institute on Storgata and the practices by Torget and on Fresiaveien have no website that we could find. The card of the practice by Torget shows 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays; the other two cards show no hours. Fresiaveien is about two and a half kilometres north-east of Torget: phone before you go there.

The municipality also has physiotherapists of its own, whom you reach through an electronic application form or by phone Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 12 noon. The directory has more therapists under Rehabilitation and wellness centres, and Health and medicine gathers similar pages from other towns. This page shows the way and does not replace a doctor: if it is acute and serious, call 113.
