Two sides of the river and three districts: distances and the way in
- From Bragernes torg it is about 300 metres to Albums gate.
- Tollbugata and Schwartz gate are at Strømsø, about 700 metres from the railway station.
- Åssiden, Konnerud and Åskollen are between four and five kilometres from the square.
- In Tomtegata the clinic is on the third floor of a shopping centre.
The river divides the centre of Drammen into Bragernes on the north side and Strømsø on the south side, and this overview has two addresses on each side. All distances here are as the crow flies. At Bragernes, Albums gate 9 is about 300 metres north of Bragernes torg, and Tomtegata 36 a little over a kilometre east of the square, right by the motorway bridge across the river. At Strømsø, Tollbugata 49 and Schwartz gate 6 are both about 700 metres from the railway station, the first to the south-east and the second due south, by the sports ground at Marienlyst.
The districts have one address each: Ingvald Ludvigsens gate at Åssiden in the west, Bernåsbakken at Konnerud in the south-west and Nordbyveien at Åskollen in the south-east. The clinic at Åskollen writes that it is in the same building as a grocery store and the medical centre.
The clinic in Tomtegata is on the third floor of the shopping centre: its website explains that you take the lift or the stairs and follow the signs, and that the centre has one hour of free parking. In Tollbugata the clinic is on the first floor (street level), and you follow the walkway in front of the building to the main entrance. The car park by the building is paid for in an app, with a code the clinic provides (read on 7 October 2026).

Opening hours and booking: from 7 am at Åssiden to Saturday in Tomtegata
- Åssiden: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7 am to 7 pm, Wednesday until 3 pm, Friday until 1 pm.
- Konnerud: 8 am to 4 pm, Wednesday 11 am to 7 pm.
- Tomtegata: weekdays from 7 or 8 am until 5 or 6 pm, Saturday 10 am to 2 pm.
- Tollbugata: phone Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, appointments also in the morning and evening.
- Åskollen: 8 am to 4 pm, Tuesday from 7 am.
We read the opening hours on the clinic websites on 7 October 2026. They apply to the house, not to each therapist: two of the cards carry the name of one chiropractor, in Tomtegata and in Schwartz gate, and for them the clinics give no days of their own. The clinic in Tollbugata writes that it has both morning and evening appointments, without giving times.
Online booking is offered by the clinics in Tollbugata, in Tomtegata, at Åssiden and at Åskollen, and with the chiropractor in Schwartz gate you book through the clinic website. At Konnerud you call or send an appointment request in the form on the website. For the address in Albums gate we have found no website. The card gives a phone number and 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
Three clinics state a deadline for cancelling. At Åssiden and in Tollbugata it is 24 hours, and at Åssiden only weekdays count: a Monday appointment must be changed by the Friday before. In Tomtegata you must call by 12 noon on the working day before. If you miss the deadline, you risk a fee or paying for the appointment.
Referral, price and authorisation: what helsenorge.no says, and what this page does not assess
- You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a chiropractor.
- The chiropractor sets the price, and the support from Helfo covers a small part.
- The costs do not count towards the exemption card.
- The title chiropractor requires authorisation from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
This is stated on helsenorge.no, on the page about treatment and payment at a chiropractor, last updated on 1 July 2025. You can book an appointment without a referral. Helfo pays support at fixed rates, while the chiropractor is free to set the price, and the support is only a small part of what you pay. The costs do not count when you earn the exemption card either.
The same page states that a chiropractor must be authorised by the Norwegian Directorate of Health to use the title. Some of the places write about this themselves. The chiropractor in Schwartz gate states the right to refer to imaging and to medical specialists and to issue sick notes for up to twelve weeks, the card for Åskollen says that the chiropractor is authorised health personnel, and the card for Åssiden mentions four authorised chiropractors.
