Bragernes torg or Strømsø: location, floor and entrance
- All the addresses lie within about 800 metres in a straight line, with the river in between.
- Bragernes: three clinics within about 170 metres, two of them on the fourth floor.
- Strømsø: five addresses within about 400 metres, three of them at Torgeir Vraas plass.
North of the river the three clinics are close together. Two have an address at Bragernes torg, at numbers 4 and 13, and the third is in Øvre Storgate, about a hundred metres from number 4. The clinic in Øvre Storgate states the fourth floor (fjerde etasje), a lift in the building and parking in the street or in the cinema building (the clinic's website, read on 7 October 2026). The dentist at Bragernes torg 4 gives the address 4B and the fourth floor, but does not mention a lift. At number 13 the address to use is 13C, with the entrance from the pedestrian street.
South of the river one of the clinics is in Jernbanegata, by the Strømsø bus terminal according to the clinic itself. From there it is just under 200 metres in a straight line to Torgeir Vraas plass, where three practices are at numbers 2, 4 and 6, and about 400 metres to the clinic in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons gate. No other address in the directory has as many dentists as this square: fourteen cards for dentists, specialists and a dental laboratory are listed at the three house numbers.

Opening hours and booking: what the clinics themselves state
- Longest hours: the clinic in Jernbanegata, 7.30 am to 8.30 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays.
- Evenings in Bragernes: the clinic in Øvre Storgate until 8 pm on Monday and 6 pm on Tuesday, but closed on Wednesday.
The hours below were taken from the clinics' own websites on 7 October 2026. Office hours from 8 am to 4 pm are the norm. The clinic in Jernbanegata stands out with 7.30 am to 8.30 pm from Monday to Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. In Bragernes the clinic in Øvre Storgate has a long Monday and Tuesday but is closed on Wednesday, and the clinic at Bragernes torg 13 opens at 9 am and offers evening appointments by arrangement.
In two cases the card in the directory differs from the clinic's own page: it shows Øvre Storgate open on Wednesday and Bragernes torg 13 opening at 8 am. The clinic's page counts. The dentist at Bragernes torg 4 sees patients on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, while the phone is answered on all weekdays.
Three clinics use the same online booking system, Opus Dental: the clinics in Jernbanegata and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons gate and the one at Bragernes torg 13. The chain clinic in Øvre Storgate has its own login, Min side. With the dentist at Bragernes torg 4 you call or send a form, and the form is a request that the clinic answers, not a confirmed appointment.
At Torgeir Vraas plass the three practices differ. The one at number 4 is a referral practice: its website asks you to contact your own dentist for a referral, and gives 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday and until 3.30 pm on Friday. We found no website for the practices at numbers 2 and 6. The card for number 2 shows 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays, while the card for number 6 has only an address and a phone number: call to hear when and whether you can come.
Acute toothache, the emergency dental service and who pays
- The county's emergency dental service (tannlegevakt): Rosenkrantzgata 17, Saturdays and public holidays 3 pm to 6 pm, phone 31 01 29 30.
- On ordinary Sundays the emergency dental service is closed: the county then refers you to the out-of-hours medical service.

Buskerud county council runs an emergency dental service at the public dental clinic at Rosenkrantzgata 17, north of the river. It is open on Saturdays and public holidays, except ordinary Sundays, from 3 pm to 6 pm, and the phone number is 31 01 29 30 (bfk.no, last changed 16 September 2026, read on 7 October 2026). Outside opening hours the county refers you to the out-of-hours medical service (legevakt). Patients without the right to free public dental care get a 75 per cent surcharge on the ordinary prices.
Several of the clinics write about urgent help themselves. The clinic in Jernbanegata calls itself an emergency dentist (tannlegevakt), has evening and Saturday hours and states an on-call phone on Sundays. The dentist at Bragernes torg 4 has its own on-call number on its booking page, and the clinics in Øvre Storgate and at Bragernes torg 13 describe urgent appointments on their websites. None of them can promise a free slot in advance: you only find out when you call.
Prices are not in the cards. The main rule on helsenorge.no (last updated 1 July 2026, read on 7 October 2026) is that adults pay for dental treatment themselves, and that dentists set their prices freely. Children and young people up to and including the age of 18 get free treatment in the public dental service, except orthodontics, and those who turn 19 to 28 in the year of treatment pay 25 per cent there.
