Which group suits you
This page is useful if you want a massage near your workplace in the centre, would rather not travel in from Hillevåg, Gausel or Hundvåg, or need a place that stays open late.
| If you need | What to look at | Which group fits | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| A massage right after work in the centre | An address in Løkkeveien or Bergelandsgata | In the centre and within walking distance of it | Which street the entrance is on: ask when you book |

| An appointment late in the evening or on a Sunday | Open until 22:00 and Sunday opening in the card | The centre, south of the centre and Misjonsveien | That the same hours are given on the place's own website |

Where in the city: the centre, to the south, or west and north
- The addresses in and near the centre lie within about one kilometre of each other.
- To the south the distance grows from just over one kilometre in Lagårdsveien to six and a half at Gausel.
- Hundvåg is an island: the address there is around three kilometres north of Løkkeveien in a straight line.
- The same kind of massage is offered in several areas, so choose by address first.
The massage places in the city are spread out, and many of them are in residential areas rather than in the streets of the centre. That is why this page is divided by area. The first group gathers the addresses in the centre of Stavanger and within walking distance of it, around Løkkeveien and Bergelandsgata: the two that are furthest apart are about one kilometre from each other.
The second group follows the city southwards. Nearest is an address in Lagårdsveien, just over one kilometre from Løkkeveien in a straight line. Then comes Hillevåg after three kilometres and Mariero after just under four, and furthest south is Gausel, six and a half kilometres away. If you live in one of these areas, you are spared the trip into town.
The third group lies west and north of the centre. The addresses in Misjonsveien and Randabergveien are between one and two kilometres from Løkkeveien, and on the island of Hundvåg there is one place around three kilometres to the north in a straight line. The road there goes over the bridge Bybrua or through the Hundvåg tunnel, so the journey takes longer than the distance on the map suggests.
This page shows a selection. The catalogue category Spa & Massage Centers holds more than fifty cards, and more guides on wellness are gathered under Beauty and wellness.
Thai, sports or wellness: what the places offer
- Traditional Thai massage is the most common offer and is found in all three areas.
- Sports massage and massage of the back, neck and shoulders are on the list at several places.
- Some also offer hot stone massage, aroma massage or a hand and foot spa.
- A massage for two must be arranged in advance.
Most of the places on this page offer Thai massage, either the traditional kind without oil, with pressure and stretching, or a version with oil. According to the places' own websites and the catalogue cards (read on 5 and 6 October 2026), several of them also offer aroma massage, foot massage and shorter treatments for the back, neck and shoulders.
You will find sports massage in all three groups. One place near the centre works with sports massage, therapeutic exercise and training, and a place at Gausel lists a 45-minute sports massage. Hot stones, deep tissue massage and spa packages are offered by a place in Løkkeveien, and a hand and foot spa by a place in Misjonsveien.
If you want a massage for two at the same time, it must be arranged in advance: three of the places offer a couples massage, and one of them takes such bookings only by phone. This page assesses neither the therapists nor the effect of the treatments, and it does not replace help from a doctor or physiotherapist.
Opening hours and booking: two patterns
- Several places are open until 21:00 or 22:00 every day, Sundays included.
- Others keep shop hours, from 10:00 to 18:00, and are closed on Sundays.
- Some have an online calendar, others take bookings only by phone.
- The cards do not give prices.
Opening hours split the places in two. Several of the Thai massage places state that they are open from 10:00 to 21:00 or 22:00 every day, Sundays included. Others keep shop hours, 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and shorter on Saturdays, and are closed on Sundays. The hours are taken from the places' websites and from the catalogue cards in October 2026, and the two sources do not always agree: when they differ, go by the place's own website.
Booking also works in several ways. Some places have an online calendar where you pick the treatment and the time yourself. One place has a form where you ask for a time, and the appointment is only yours once the place has replied. Several take bookings only by phone, and one place south of the centre says in its card that you can also drop in.
A couple of the places belong to businesses with branches in other towns, and the online booking button on the website may then apply to another branch. Read the name of the branch before you confirm the appointment.
Prices are not given in the cards. When you book, ask about the price for the length you want and what applies if you have to cancel.

How this page is made
The places on this page are chosen by the NorgeGuide editorial team. Payment affects neither the selection nor the order. The order within the groups is free and says nothing about quality: the editorial team does not assess the treatments.
