Car repair in Bodø: 8 workshops by Olav V gate, at Rønvikleira and Mørkved
The car workshops in Bodø are closest together by Olav V gate, the street that leads out to the airport: four of the workshops on this page have an address there or in the neighbouring streets Kariveien and Påls vei. The other four are each on their own, in Gamle Riksvei, at Rønvikleira, in Notveien and at Mørkved. The page separates workshops that service and repair all makes from workshops with a field of their own: tests, auto electrics, paint or one electric car brand. Every card has the address and a short description, and the phone number or the link to the workshop's website is on the card.

Four workshops within 320 metres by Olav V gate, four further out
- Olav V gate 98A and 102, Kariveien 7 and Påls vei 1A lie within about 320 metres of each other, 1.4 kilometres south-east of the main square.
- Gamle Riksvei 6 is one kilometre north of this cluster.
- Dreyfushammarn at Rønvikleira is 1.5 kilometres north-east of the square.
- Notveien 3 is three kilometres east of the square, Bodøveien 708 at Mørkved just over eight.
The cluster by Olav V gate is easy to find, because the street also leads to the airport. The test centre at number 102 explains the way like this on its website (read on 7 October 2026): drive under the aviation museum towards the airport and turn left at the petrol station, the entrance is marked with a flag. The chain workshop at number 98A is 150 metres away, and the auto-electrics workshop in Kariveien and the paint shop in Påls vei are only 70 metres apart.
The other four each need a trip of their own. Dreyfushammarn at Rønvikleira is 2.5 kilometres away, and Notveien just under two kilometres to the east. The brand workshop for electric cars is on its own at Bodøveien 708 at Mørkved, furthest east in town. All distances are measured in a straight line between the points on the map.
This page is a selection. The Car workshops and maintenance rubric holds about thirty cards, among them tyre workshops, car care and workshops for lorries. More about the town is on the Bodø page.
Who does what: general workshop, tests, auto electrics and paint

What is said here we read on the workshops' websites on 7 October 2026. The workshop at Rønvikleira writes that it has been in town since 1990 and has eight mechanics, two of them trained on Subaru. Its list has service according to the manufacturer's recommendations, repairs of all makes, tyre changes, AC service and the periodic roadworthiness test (EU-kontroll). According to its website the workshop in Notveien takes service and repairs whatever the make and model up to 7.5 tonnes, electric cars and motorhomes included. That is useful to know if you are travelling on by motorhome: there is a ferry from Bodø to Lofoten. The workshop in Gamle Riksvei takes maintenance, tyres and repairs of engine and electronics, but makes a reservation for electric cars: it may lack high-voltage equipment.
In the second group each workshop has its field. The test centre at Olav V gate 102 does tests of a car at purchase and sale, a test before the warranty runs out, service on most makes and EU-kontroll of vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. The workshop in Kariveien offers service to factory specifications, also on electric and hybrid cars, and has engine heaters as a separate offer. The paint shop in Påls vei offers a free estimate, smart repair and car painting. The brand workshop at Mørkved takes its own electric car brand, and its card has no phone number.

The working day is the same almost everywhere. The workshops at Rønvikleira, in Gamle Riksvei and at Olav V gate 98A and 102 all state Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm on their websites (read on 7 October 2026). The workshop in Notveien states 8 am to 4 pm without naming the days, and the workshop in Kariveien opens half an hour earlier. The paint shop in Påls vei has no opening hours on its website, but two phone numbers: one for daytime and one for the evening.
At the workshop in Kariveien you enter the registration number and mileage and get a price estimate before you book. The four general workshops and the test centre have their own booking pages online. The paint shop is reached by phone. For the brand workshop at Mørkved we have not been able to read the brand's own page, so how service is booked there is not confirmed.
You can hand in the car the evening before at Olav V gate 102. According to the website there is a key drop on the left side of the main entrance, above the yellow gate, and a machine that gives you the key back after closing time as well. The other workshops describe nothing of the kind, so agree on drop-off and pick-up when you book. Pages on other topics are collected under Transport and cars.
